I'm on My Level

Music is one of the most important parts of existence. Everyone in the world listens to music. No matter what type of music it is, music moves our souls. The music we listen to is a pure reflection of our personality, feelings and outlooks on life. Any way you look at it, you can not deny your soul music. Days without music are usually dark days and I really can't go an hour without music until i get itchy. Like an addiction, when i'm not listening to it, I'm singing a song in my head or humming a tune that I've been all over for that day. Music is what makes us human
I originally hear about Wiz Khalifa during college. Living with Glenn and Billy, who are both big hip hop fans, we all were really excited for his Kush and Orange Juice mixtape. Most of the mixtapes were perfect songs to chill out to. They were simple, easy to vibe to and got you in a good mood. This brings me to the reason why we listen to hip hop music.

Hip hop brings us to a whole different level. No matter what kind you listen to from the gritty street "trap" rap, to more refined big production hip hop, even to some old-school G Funk rap, it's all based around the same feeling. Rap talks a lot about success. Although many rappers define success differently that many other Americans, it's the fact they are making music because they are happy they finally found their place in the world. Rap motivates us all to become successful just hearing about the struggle. The struggle keeps us human and no matter how successful we become there will always be struggle.

I think that rap defines America way more than pop music or any other kind of music for that matter. America has always had a struggle to find it's way into the world. From the Revolution to modern times, struggling to survive in the economy, Americans always find a way. American exceptionalism is a term I hold near and dear to my heart. Nothing will ever match American desire to succeed. The only thing that holds us down as a country is those who have no desire to make something of themselves. Those comfortable with living as they live now. They have no drive to make themselves better in any way and really are just living through the American way not actually living it.
My advice to you would be never stop doing. Trying is a mere acceptance of failure. When someone says they are going to "try", it merely means that ultimately they believe they are going to fail. Never say "I can't". When you say "I can't" you already limit your capability. Knowing you are doing something destined for failure will always bring you to that destiny. Never stop doing America and always be exceptional.
